Thank you to all who helped us enjoy the Book Fair’s bumper crop of books this fall! Because of your love of books and reading, our record harvest sales were $12,558, resulting in over $5800 in Scholastic book credit for our school! This credit in turn was used to provide
$75 for each teacher to choose books for the classroom
$5000 in books to be added to the library
Books into the hands of students who cannot afford them
Other projects to enhance readership among our student community

Special thanks to our dear and patient librarian, Mrs. Wing, who provided us so much assistance and let us inhabit her library for over a week to turn it into a bookstore. Thanks, too, to Mrs. Garcia, Mr. Gary, and the DC staff for all their efforts in supporting the book fair.
This Book Fair could not happen without the help of our amazing parent volunteers, who gave their time, energy, and creativity to make it a success. We LOVE our volunteers and think they are the BEST in the LAND!
Thank you to our cashiers and helpers: Heather Weis, Tania Nunez, Lettie Goffee, Donielle Norton, Tammie Cruz, Eilis Young, Heather Barnett, Jami Appleton, Jamie Yust, Bailey Stark, Lyndsy Hooker, Corrine McDonald, Deborah Bales, Eunice Lee, Amanda Conchas, Dara Dungworth, Baldeep Deol, Rachel Ahrens, Katie Roth, Debbie Hanlon, Cari Prater, Colleen Morris, Veena Shergill, Florence Wong, Jaime Errecart, and Amanda Alcantar. Please forgive us if we omitted anyone in the blur of book sales!
Thank you to the following helpers for creative and culinary brilliance with the teacher preview and decorations: Jayme Rice, Melissa de la Rosa, Jami Appleton, Antonina Phillips. Dudney Salamanca, Rachel Ahrens, Tracey Reliford, and Vanessa Lucero
Special thanks to our roaming characters (inflated chickens and Pete the Cat): Melissa Tarr, Bailey Stark, Boston Bartee, Zander Guzzo, and Mason Stark.
And finally, the following students received books for being winners of our raffle!
Congratulations to...
Alana Sweatt
Anna Strickland
Liam Harney
Ailyn Grohs
Sophia Ahrens
Alana Tabalno
Mikayla Zemanovic
Morris Duggan

Thank you again for all your help and support, and we’ll see you in the spring when—wait, what’s that sound?? It sounds like distant drum beats. And where did these monkeys come from?? I can’t see anything through this thick jungle! To be continued…

Location: Diamond Creek Elementary
Time: 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Please join us on Friday, October 11 from 5-8pm for our annual Fall Festival.
This is a Community Event open to everyone.

The evening will be filled with fun activities for kids and families to enjoy. Carnival games such as a donut eating contest, bean bag toss and more will be there. Train rides will be available to keep the little kids entertained. Pizza, cotton candy, popcorn, and drinks will be available to purchase inside the multipurpose room.  There will also be food trucks available for a variety of food for people to purchase separately through the vendors, which usually accept cash or credit.

This year we are offering two kinds of wristbands.
  • $5.00 will get your child in the door to play all the games.
  • $10.00 will include all the games, plus popcorn, cotton candy, drink, and a glow item!

Flyers have gone out to teachers already, so please look for the order forms in your child’s backpack. Early orders ensure you don’t have to wait at the door!

Join us for the Down on the Farm Book Fair!  The piggly~wiggly good time starts on October 7th and will be open through October 11th, during lunch, after school and during our Fall Festival!  We are in need of some farm hands to help things run smoothly!
