May Newsletter - The Final Countdown!

May 24, 2018

And the countdown is ON!!  There are only 2 weeks remaining in the school year.  Here's a breakdown on the last 2 weeks.

On Your Marks…Get Set….GO!!!!

The Diamond Creek PTC will be putting on our annual end of the year Field Day on Friday, June 1st!  This is a fun event for our students where each class rotates through fun activity stations such as Tire Relay’s and Tug-O-War.

The event will be in the morning from 9:30-11:45 and we ask that every student wear their classroom T-shirt and a hat,  have sunscreen and bring a water bottle.  There will be water refill stations at the event.

We need lots of parent volunteers to help make this day successful!  Please see the SIGN UP GENIUS below to see what jobs are available.  The event is broken down into 3 age groupings:  Youngest Classes (TK-1st), Middle Classes (2nd-3rd) and the Older Classes (4th-5th).  After the event is over, the kids will eat their lunches outside at their normal lunch time.  We encourage parent volunteers to stay and have a picnic lunch with your child.  Please note that there will be a bit of a time gap between the end of Field Day and the normal lunch time period.

Any questions regarding field day can be directed to Heather Weis @  heathergirl77@comcast.net

Monthly Newsletter - May 2018

May 1, 2018

Welcome to our Diamond Creek PTC Blog.  This will be hopefully a new effective way to get out more information to our parents.

Dear Diamond Creek Families,

We would like to say thank you for all your generosity and support for our Spring Fundraiser. It is because of your enthusiastic participation, year after year, that we can continue to make amazing things happen at Diamond Creek Elementary. This would never happened without you. A special thank you to the room parents and the families for putting together such an amazing selection of baskets. Donors were so generous and creative with their offerings—we loved seeing what you came up with and appreciate you all!  Thank you also, to the Diamond Creek staff who donated their time to the student activities. It is always our MOST popular and priceless items.

Once again, Bingo Night turned out to be a huge success. We sold around 130 tickets and saw many new faces, shared a few laughs, saw a whole lot of wine, plus the bidding was very competitive this year. We all had so much fun.

This event would have never been possible if not for the GREAT parent volunteers for their assistance from being part of the planning committee, to soliciting donations, helping with ticket sales, basket preparation, BINGO night setup and cleanup, etc.  We can't thank you enough!

We are pleased to announce that our Spring Fundraiser total is 12,010.89

PTC is in need of volunteers to help make this event possible again next year. Please consider being a chair for the Spring Event, it is a great benefit for our school and students. For more information please contact us.

With much gratitude,

Thomesina Zemanovic

Music In The Park; Diamond Creek Choir

I wanted to share with you some wonderful news from our choir. This past weekend Diamond Creek Choir participated in the “Music In The Park” program at Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA. The Choir had a singing competition at Vanden High School in Fairfield, CA. There they performed three wonderful songs under the direction of Mrs Dahl. As the spectator, I have to tell you what an amazing job they did. The children all sang their hearts out and it was beautiful. Mrs Dahl’s leadership and direction resulted in an amazing performance. The awards ceremony was that same evening at Discovery Kingdom. We took home TWO big trophies. The first one was for “First Place with a Rating of Superior” and the second trophy was for, “Best Overall Score” in the Elementary School category. We are super proud of the work that our choir students did. We are also very grateful to Mrs Dahl for all the hard work that she puts into getting the children ready. They sang with so much confidence and pride, what a wonderful experience for them all.

Congratulations Mrs Dahl and Diamond Creek Choir!! You may view the trophies located in the office. Our Spring Concert will be on May 22, please come hear the beautiful sounds for yourself. Hopefully you will join the choir next school year!

Sincerely,
Thomesina
